I’m assuming you’re curious…
What we do is Powder Coating. But I guess you already know that, bear with me.
What Powder Coating is, is a dry finishing process that applies fine particles of pigment and resin to a surface, which are then cured under heat to form a durable, high-quality, and smooth finish. Powder Coating is mostly used on metal, but ceramics, some woods, and MDF can be powder coated as well!
Want the more gritty details (if you like knowing exactly what we will be doing).
First things first, we will have to prep whatever is given us for powder. The surface is cleaned, then pretreated by sand blasting to remove rust, contaminants, old paint, clear coat, etc. This ensures when the powder cures, it will have proper adhesion.
Like previously state, Powder Coat is a dry powder thats applies to the object. How? We have a device that much like a paint gun - difference being, instead of just spraying, it also applies an electro static charge to the powder so it clings to the object. Once sprayed and verified that everything got the correct amount of powder, it will be put into an oven that set anywhere between 350-400 degrees.
Once finished, it will be set to cool to room temperature.
Whew. That was a lot of words to type, but know you know what we do! If you have any questions, reach out!
